Mid Wales Community Energy Trust: Windfall

Donations we receive are offered as grants for community investments near contributing wind farms or other developments. We are particularly interested in supporting:

• Renewable energy generation;
• Energy efficiency / demand reduction measures;
• Low carbon travel initiatives such as cycling, walking and sharing vehicles;
• Educational activities in pursuit of sustainable development.

The project must benefit people in the Carno, Caersws, Trefeglwys, Dwyriw, Llanbrynmair or Llanerfyl Community Council areas. (Grants for communities in Montgomeryshire outside these six areas are expected to be publicised in Spring 2027.)

Co-funding from other sources will be welcomed.

We expect to provide grants up to a maximum of only £12,500 in this Autumn 2026 round, although we could go up to £20,000 at our discretion.

Organisations must:

• Be a constituted organisation (including simple unincorporated associations) with a bank account.
• Not distribute profits to private interests.
